  The Engine of Our Region: Why UA Little Rock’s Community Impact is Fiscal Stewardship in Action As a professional in the public sector, I often analyze institutional health through the cold, objective lens of balance sheets, internal controls, and audit trails. Yet, after years of serving the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in a fiscal capacity—and having navigated these same halls as a student—I have come to understand that the true "bottom line" of a metropolitan university is not found in a spreadsheet. It is found in our tangible, systemic impact on the region. Being a graduate and a lifetime member of the UA Little Rock Alumni Association offers me a dual perspective.
